The project involves the interior spaces of a building in the hamlet of Brozzi, whose ancient origins appear to date back to the early Middle Ages.
In this context, the firm undertook the creation of a home for a young Florentine couple, redesigning the various living spaces by incorporating volumes that function as focal points.
The various volumes define new spatial configurations within the rooms they occupy, creating entryway buffer zones, serving as storage spaces, enclosing utility rooms, functioning as work islands in the kitchen, and so on. These volumes recalibrate the proportions of the space, introducing new functions and altering the flow of movement.
The predominant colors are white, black, and gray. The white plastered walls brighten the rooms. Oak parquet flooring was used on both levels of the house. The dark-toned elements highlight the new spatial arrangements. The furnishings were chosen in neutral tones. Color is used almost as a surprise effect, as in the guest bathroom, which emerges unexpectedly from within the black box that contains it. Or in the bedroom, where the headboard also serves as the lining for the walk-in closet and, together with the curtain, features a shade that stands out somewhat from the rest of the house.
