The project to expand the Brac Bookstore in Florence stems from a desire to strengthen its brand image and to design the new space to accommodate a variety of possible uses.
The renovation revitalizes the space adjacent to the existing bookstore, characterized by spacious volumes, vaulted ceilings, and exposed beams. Through its furnishings, the design creates several distinct yet interconnected zones: the entrance hall, a room with large display cases and a bar counter, a space for presentations and collaborative work, and an area dedicated to children’s and young adult literature.
Each space features display fixtures and furnishings with different functions, finishes, and layouts. The design focuses on specific areas of the space, introducing new visual elements and atmospheres that are consistent with the identity of the Brac Bookstore.
The result is a versatile space designed to accommodate a variety of activities: browsing the selection of art books, enjoying a meal or a drink with friends, attending lectures, finding a place to study, or simply spending time lost in a book.
Through its choice of colors and materials, the furnishings enhance the tones of the original design, expanding its combinations and expressive possibilities.
