HOUSE LM

The studio dealt with the design of a garden for a house situated in the historic Florentine neighborhood of Brozzi. The intervention completes the previous work on the interior renovation of the house, to which the private green area is attached.

The garden is located at the end of an internal road, which divides it from the noise of the main road. The design works according to a linear development of spaces, organized by different essences bands, soil types and functions. The various green bands are surrounded by an iron pool with plants and flowers, which surrounds the garden and defines its outer edges.

A first gravel strip placed next to the access leads to a wooden shed, where bikes and garden tools are kept. The central space is divided into two bands, one of which is a lawn, where one can play and relax, and the other one is paved with self-locking blocks, furnished with a dining area and a conversation one. Here, there is a long concrete top which joins the two zones and works both as a bench, where to sit with friends, and as furniture, with a sink and a high section as support while preparing meals.

The garden design and the selection of different types of flowers and plants were carried on by the studio, following its orientation, shadow areas and the seasons alternation. The space is set up with outdoor furniture, supporting many outdoor activities, as well as custom made elements, such as the concrete bench or the pergola made of wood and bamboo canes.
