HOUSE AD a renovation and interior design project for an apartment in the Le Cure neighborhood of Florence, conceived for a young couple and designed to create an informal, open, and welcoming living space. The clients enlisted DEFERRARI+MODESTI transform their home into a space capable of accommodating friends, objects, books, and personal interests, creating a flexible and distinctive everyday environment.
The project addresses the apartment’s original layout, which is organized around a dimly lit central hallway and features a clear separation between the living and sleeping areas. The renovation reimagines this layout, opening up new spatial possibilities and taking advantage of the home’s dual exposure to create spaces that are more fluid, bright, and interconnected.
The renovation makes use of custom-designed volumes and furniture pieces, which have been installed in place of some existing partitions. These elements not only serve a functional purpose but also act as design tools capable of defining new relationships between spaces, accommodating different uses, and expanding the perception of space.
The interior design strikes a balance between neutral colors, diverse materials, and custom furnishings. The walls are painted in subtle shades, varying between the living and sleeping areas, while custom-designed elements introduce color and textural accents that define the different living spaces. The result is a bright, informal, and welcoming home, where the layout, furnishings, and color scheme come together to create a new domestic identity.
