Casa GZ

In the Santa Croce neighborhood of Florence, the architectural firm “ studio ” has been commissioned to renovate this apartment for a young family. The apartment is located on the ground floor of a 19th-century building, part of the dense urban fabric of the historic city center.

The project began with an extensive and complex renovation of the property, followed by the reconfiguration and design of the new interior spaces, and culminated in the creation of the furnishings and the selection of all the finishes involved. The rooms of the house are arranged around an interior garden—which was also included in the design—filled with plants and set up for various activities.

The house is conceived as a neutral, light-filled space, furnished with pieces that function as elements within the space—both by introducing new functions and through the variety of their finishes. It is an interior with an eclectic style that plays on the continuous juxtaposition of colors and textures.
