Casa GZ

In Florence’s Santa Croce district, DEFERRARI+MODESTI was commissioned to renovate an apartment for a young family. Located on the ground floor of a 19th-century building, the apartment forms part of the dense urban fabric of the historic city centre.

The project began with an extensive and complex renovation of the property, followed by the reconfiguration and design of the new interior spaces, the development of custom furnishings and the selection of finishes. The rooms are arranged around an internal garden, also included in the project, planted and organised to accommodate different uses.

The home is conceived as a neutral, light-filled space, animated by custom furnishings that act as spatial devices, introducing new functions through their form and finishes. The interior has an eclectic character, built around the continuous juxtaposition of colours and textures.
