Casa AM

The project combines the spaces of two adjacent apartments to create a single interior for a young Florentine family. At the same time, the design allows for the possibility of dividing and separating the living spaces again in the future, as the family members’ needs change.

Life in the house revolves around the kitchen, the true heart of the home, a space dedicated to spending time together and sharing daily activities. The kitchen opens onto a spacious terrace, filled with plants and flowers, and furnished with an outdoor seating area for entertaining friends and chatting. In addition to the terrace, the house also features two balconies, offering views on all four sides.

This interior features a variety of finishes and tones, which vary across different color combinations. Recurring materials—such as the natural wood finishes of the numerous custom-made and off-the-shelf furnishings, and the neutral ceramic tiles used for floors and walls—are interspersed with shades of dark blue, ochre, and red, emphasizing the variety and articulation of the spaces.
