CASA LM

studio . designed the garden for a home in the historic Florentine suburb of Brozzi. The project complements the previous renovation of the home’s interior, to which a private green space is attached.

The garden is located at the end of an internal road, which shields it from the noise of the main thoroughfare. The design follows a linear layout of spaces, organized into zones featuring different plant species, soil types, and functions. The various green zones are surrounded by an iron planter filled with plants and flowers, which encircles the garden and defines its outer edges.

A first strip of gravel alongside the entrance leads to a small wooden shed, where bikes and gardening tools can be stored. The central area is divided into two sections: one at prato, where you can play and relax, and one paved with interlocking pavers, featuring a dining area and a conversation area. Here, a long concrete slab has been installed, connecting the two areas and serving both as a bench—where friends can sit together in front of the outdoor fireplace—and as a work surface, featuring a sink and a raised section to lean on while preparing meals.

studio, oversaw the garden design and the selection of plant species, taking into account the garden’s natural orientation, shaded areas, and the changing seasons. The space is furnished with outdoor furniture to support various outdoor activities, as well as custom-designed elements, such as the concrete bench and the pergola made of wood and bamboo canes.
