The expansion of Libreria Brac in Florence stems from the desire to strengthen its identity while creating new spaces capable of accommodating a variety of uses.
The renovation transforms the premises adjacent to the existing bookstore, characterised by generous rooms, vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. Through a series of custom-designed furnishings, the project defines distinct yet interconnected areas: the entrance, a room with large display units and a bar counter, a flexible space for presentations and collaborative work, and an area dedicated to children’s and young adult literature.
Each space is defined by elements and furnishings with different functions, finishes and configurations. The project works through a sequence of specific interventions, introducing new atmospheres while maintaining continuity with the distinctive identity of Libreria Brac.
The result is a versatile interior designed to accommodate different experiences: browsing art books, eating and drinking with friends, attending talks and presentations, finding a place to study, or simply spending time reading.
Through its colour and material choices, the furnishings enhance the tones of the original design, expanding its combinations and expressive possibilities.
