The project involves the interior renovation of a single-family home located at Prato, at the foot of the Calvana hills. Nestled within a spacious private garden, the house opens up to the surrounding landscape through a series of views into the greenery. DEFERRARI+MODESTI oversaw the interior design, focusing on the reconfiguration of the spaces, the design of custom-made furniture, and the selection of finishes.
The new layout clearly defines the relationship between the living area and the sleeping area and emphasizes the continuity between the rooms, the natural light, and the connection to the garden. Wooden elements, wainscoting, and custom-designed furniture serve to contain, separate, and connect the spaces. The living room opens onto the large terrace, while the travertine staircase leads to the turret, which is designed as a more intimate and independent space.
Natural materials and neutral tones give the villa its homey character. Oak, walnut, travertine, lava stone, natural fabrics, and lacquered surfaces create a warm and understated interior, where architecture and furnishings work together to establish a new sense of continuity between the home’s spaces and the Calvana landscape.
